In an interactive session, communications consultant Don Swenholt will review proven techniques for giving successful presentations. Specifically, Mr. Swenholt will discuss:
- The most common complaints about science talks
- The incentives for giving superior talks
- Techniques for preparing and delivering superior talks
About Our Speaker
Don Swenholt
Since 1985, Don Swenholt has helped hundreds of NASA scientists and engineers polish their communication skills. In recent months, he coached Goddard¹s MAVEN and GEMS teams as they prepared and delivered presentations that won funding for those projects. He edited multiple editions of the annual report of Goddard¹s Laboratory for Atmospheres in the late 1990s. Don also leads regular writing and presentation skills workshops for NASA staff at GSFC and at Headquarters.
Don is the president of Donald Swenholt & Associates, Inc., a 30-year-old Washington, DC, consulting firm. In addition to NASA, his clients include NIH, NOAA, and the United States Senate. You can learn more about Don by visiting his website: http://swenholt.com.
